# Donations from users

You don't need to spend money on tokens and board coins or refer friends to start earning social capital on MAIN. Posting interesting content and receiving rewards from communities and other users is a great way to get started.

On MAIN, users show their support for posts they like by sending **rockets** 🚀, which have a cost. **Half of the rocket's cost** goes to the post author, while the board moderators receive 25%.

Moreover, some communities organize contests periodically and reward the top performers with coins from their boards. These contests are usually announced by the communities themselves and are pinned in the boards. We recommend enabling push notifications from the boards to stay updated with important announcements.
